In my 25 years of practice as a criminal defense attorney I have been successful representing thousands of clients in criminal cases.  I have been able on numerous occasions to obtain not guilty verdicts in jury trials as well as dismissals of case prior to jury selection. I successfully represented a client charged with sexual assault (rape) and had the case dismissed by the State after DNA testing established that the compliant had sex with another person who was not charged.  I represented a client charged with DWI after he failed a on site breath test. I obtained a not guilty verdict in a jury trial after I was able to discredit the testimony of the DPS officer who administered the test.  I represented a client charged with family violence assault and obtained a not guilty verdict by establishing that the complainant initiated the fight. I have obtained numerous dismissals of family violence cases because I make the State try the case of the case and often or not the state will not proceed to trial against me.   I represented a client charged with indecency to a child who confessed to the offense. I was able to have him placed on deferred adjudication where the court did not enter a finding of guilt. I represented a clients charged with drug possession offenses.  He had a prior record for drugs but insisted that he was not guilty.  The case was dismissed by the State prior to jury selection after establishing that everyone ran from the police but my client, who had the most to lose if he was found with drugs.  I represented a client charged with assault after a fight in a pool hall. My client broke the complaint’s jaw; the jury returned a not guilty verdict on self defense. I represented a client on a Motion to Revoke Probation where the client failed to report for 10 years, I was able to have the probation terminated and the client set free. I represented a husband and wife accused of injury to a child by Child Protective Services. CPS required that they move out of the house and leave the children with the grandparents. After obtaining medical records that established that CPS acted improperly, I instructed my clients to move back in with the children. CPS dropped the case. I represented a juvenile charged with indecent exposure. A mistrial was declared in the jury trial after I established that the prosecution withheld evidence from the defense. The case was subsequently dismissed. I represented an individual charged with theft by check who had over $10,000.00 in hot checks. I was able to delay the case long enough that a majority of the check could not be prosecuted because of limitations. I represented a client charged with sexual assault who was released on a $50,000.00 cash bond. I was able to have the bond lowered to $5,000.00 and the balance of the money returned to my client. I was able to have that case subsequently dismissed by the State. I represented a client charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. The case was dismissed by the state during jury selection when the state could not produce their witness.   We knew that the compliant had left the State and would be unavailable tom testify so I pushed the case to trial.  I represented a client charged with stealing over $400,000.00.  He was arrested and his bond was set at $500,000.00.  I was able to have the bond lowered to $30,000.00 after having a hearing with the judge.
